Course Description
Intro to CMMI 1.2 is an official Software Engineering Institute (SEI) course that introduces participants to Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) fundamental concepts. CMMI is a process improvement method that provides organizations with effective methodologies. The CMMI models support enterprise-wide improvements by integrating best practices and proven process improvement tolls.
This three-day course is compromised of lectures, classroom exercises, and evening reading assignments with ample time for questions and discussions. Emphasis is placed on understanding process areas and the application of CMMI models into real-world process improvement programs.
Upon course completion, participants will be able to describe the components of CMMI models, describe CMMI component relationships, discuss process areas, and locate relevant information within the model. This course fulfills a prerequisite requirement for any course requiring an official SEI introductory to CMMI course. Additionally, completion of this course is a pre-requisite for anyone wishing to participate in a SCAMPI appraisal.
